Adirondack rentals and the stuff nobody tells you
While the area is comprised of both public and private lands, the Adirondack Forest Preserve, created by the state legislature in 1885 and located in the heart of the Park, remains forever wild. The general Adirondack area is a mixture of public and private lands, Adirondack summer cottage rentals and permanent residences, mountains and valleys. You can find the perfect Adirondack rental in any one of the several regions that make up the Park. Adirondack rentals should be reserved several months ahead of time, due to the popularity of the area, but you can usually choose from a number of last minute vacancies if you make a spontaneous decision to visit the area. There are log cabins, summer camps, chalets, bed and breakfasts and lake front cottages with lake rights available on a weekly or less than weekly basis.
